Week 4 11.29.10 - 12.3.10

We've been looking and studying how we relate to our characters and the real world around us. Now it's time to put yourself into your character's shoes. Thinking about the main character of your book, consider what you would do in their situation.  1. What would your reactions be? 2. How would you handle the situation? 3. What would you do differently? Be sure to use complete sentences and EVIDENCE to support your thinking.

Blog Checklist
Go over this before clicking publish post:
1. Does the title of your post have the date you typed it, along with the week of the question?
2. Did you copy and paste the question into the post, above your answer?
3. Did you give the title of your book and author? Did you underline the title and capitalize the first letter of each word in the title and authors name?
4. Did you stay on topic and fully answer the question?
5. Did you give examples from the book with page numbers and quotes?
6. Did you spell check, check for punctuation and grammar errors? READ IT ALOUD.
7. Did you use the vocab word of the week?

The name of the book that I'm reading is Witch & Wizard by: James Patterson. The main character of my book is 1: Whit and 2: Wisty. Something that I would have done differently in Whits shoes would be this...

In the book on page 150 it Say's "Watch out!" I screamed. " Right behind you!'

First of all I would have been panicking and scared and crying and screaming. " GET THE HELL IN THE PORTAL WITSY." Instead of being focused on whats going  on behind her. If
I do this I might have been afraid that it would of made her panicky and then she could of tripped or something. This  is what I would of done in Whits shoes.

Something that I would have done differently in Wisty's shoes would be this...

In the book on page 114 it Say's "I trust you're enjoying your stay at the hospital?" " Fantastic!" I said- couldn't resist. " Five stars."

Now instead of being all rude I would have been calm and tryed to hold all my anger in. Then later on in my cell I would let all that anger out. Then I would be brusque on the poor judges opinion. No offence. I would have said noting. I would have sat their and wanted until I was called on. I mean so would you if you were in jail and in front of the person who decides your fate. Life or Death?

  1. Lizzy I like how you copied the checklist in. Cute. You did a good job using the word of the week. I also think you understand how to put yourself in your character's shoes.

I was confused by some of your explanation. I think it would have helped to have some sort of summary so I could understand the context of the Witsy. As for how you would "be" Whit - did you read aloud? Grammar check.
