9.7.10 - 9.10.10: Week 3

As readers, we need to be able to look at what is happening in the world around us so that we can make connections to what we are reading. Thinking about the world you live in, what connections can you make to your book.

Today in the world we are all falling in love!!! I mean it is something that just happens. We cant control who or what our heart desires. That is what is happening to Jennifer Love Hewitt in her book 'The Day I Shot Cupid!' This book is really similar to life because it is what is happing to me and you right now. We fall in love and they break our heart. That is just how it works. In the book she tells you not to cry over someone that does not love you back. If you look at life and your relationship all your friends tell you the same thing. In the world love hurts and that is how my bookm is related to the world around us!!!

  1. Lizzy - what a creative way to respond to this question! You "hit the nail on the head". They way you responded felt like you were talking to me, and yes I can connect and now I want to read it! What kind of specific example (not just your blank statements of how we get our heart broken)could you have shared to make has more indepth? You want to make me read but isn't as important to give me more juicy details?

Your grade: 5-6 PP You showed a sufficient amount of understanding of the assignment and expectations and were aware of the choices that you made in your work. The assignment reflected imagination and worldly awareness as well as some literary terms and features with intention and understanding.
